Hello!
Union Announcements
Reminder: IRP submission deadline is December 31st
This is the last year an In-Range Progression (IRP) will be accepted per our contract. Don’t wait to submit one if you are interested. The end of the year will be here before you know it and it can take up to 90 days to process! If interested, start now! For more information, see Article 20.25 in our contract. You will find instructions and the form on the CO In-Range Progression Guidelines – CSUEU Units 7 and 9 webpage.
Don’t Forget to Vote! Pledge to Vote Pro Workers!
It’s more important than ever to stand together and ensure our voices are heard. This year, we can elect pro-worker candidates who will support workers’ rights, help secure funding for our Steps, and fight for future raises to help grow California's middle class.
By voting for pro-worker legislators, we strengthen our union’s ability to negotiate better wages, benefits, and working conditions across the CSU system. The power to protect and advance the great work CSUEU members perform on campuses starts with us.
Take a moment to pledge to vote pro-workers by signing our Voter Pledge Card. Join CSUEU members and workers across the state in this critical effort to elect leaders who stand with us!
Other ways to support the union:
- Join! Become a member!
- As a member, you can shape the union’s legislative agenda (join the CSUEU Legislative Group). If interested, contact Erin Foote.
- As a member, you can join and shape what’s important for you unit (join a Unit Council meeting). Finding the appropriate BU meeting (Business Unit 5, 7, and 9), check out the CSUEU calendar.
- …and so much more!
- If a member, join our PAC – which is used ONLY to get our state legislators to support and move the CSUEU agenda forward (fund the CSU budget, get us raises and improved benefits!)
Reminder: Position Description Review
Overview: As the bargaining team maps all represented employees to the salary schedule for October 2025, you can review and update your Position Description (PD) to reflect your current work. This is an optional task, however, recommended if you haven't reviewed your PD in the last couple of years.
Note: no action needed if your classification is changing—see the list of classifications to change.
Refer to the October 18, 2024 Chapter 313 News newsletter for details and if you are planning to review your position description, it will be beneficial to read Contract Articles 17.2 to 17.4.
Other News
Erin Foote, the CSUEU VP for Organizing, reports that while enrollment numbers have improved for Fall 2024, CSU leadership is threatening to cut staffing and reduce student services next year. We must reject this fearmongering! The CSUEU stands firm against staff layoffs and will not accept minimum wage for our student workforce. Sign the petition today to demand a better vision for the CSU! The signatures will be delivered in time for the November Board of Trustees (BoT) session.
