Ø Budget Update & Impacts to CSUEU Staff
Gov. Newsom’s 2025–26 budget proposal includes $252.3 million for the CSU to implement a full Steps salary structure. Despite a 7.95% reduction in general fund support, the Governor ensured the CSU has the funding for staff pay increases. The CSUEU contract specifies salary steps start in October 2025. The proposal is a draft, subject to changes and uncertainties, including federal funding. Our Union will hold town halls sessions next week to discuss the budget and pay equity efforts.
Ø Position Description Review – There’s still time!
Overview: As the bargaining team maps all represented employees to the salary schedule for October 2025, you can review and update your Position Description (PD) to reflect your current work. This is an optional task, however, recommended if you haven't reviewed your PD in the last couple of years.
