- State Budget (May Revise) – what does it mean to CSUEU represented employees?
- Contract bargaining negotiations - get started July 2025 (for CSUEU it starts in January 2026)
- Salary & wage adjustments – if healthcare premiums go up, the state will cover the increase
- CalPERS funding - The state's contribution to the CalPERS retirement fund will be reduced, but the state will use extra money (from Prop 2 funding) to help stabilize the fund's debt.
- Employee compensation - The state expects to save $766.7 million on salaries and wages through ongoing negotiations with employee groups.
- Job Security & Stability – the revise doesn’t indicate any immediate layoffs, but focuses on achieving savings through negotiations & adjustments
- Future Planning - the state has a backup plan to save money even if they don't make deals with the worker groups during negotiations.
"Overall, the proposed reduced funding cuts to the CSU is a small but important victory for CSUEU members, made possible by our effective advocacy work in Sacramento, which included a statewide email campaign, face-to-face visits with legislators, and our Fund the CSU video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2s2aru9eJdU)
." - Catherine Hutchinson, CSUEU President
