📢 Budget and Salary Steps Conflict
- CSU received full funding in the 2025 state budget but is treating it as insufficient due to technicalities.
- CSUEU members emphasize that salary steps were a hard-fought contractual victory to get represented staff paid at market value!
- Governor and Legislature support the salary steps system to correct long-standing pay inequity and below-market wages.
- Although the budget allocates the necessary $227M, it spreads it over three years (2% in 2026–27, 3% in 2028–29, plus $252M in one-time funding in 2027–28).
- CSU management is using the spread-out funding to delay implementation, despite creative budget solutions being available.
CSUEU Response
