Union Announcements
Thank you for your patience while logistics were being worked out. Join us Tuesday, March 24 at 12:00 pm for an important Unit 9 meeting, with special focus on Red Circled employees. We will walk through where things stand with CSUEU and CSU and talk about the practical steps we can take to strengthen our bargaining position. This is about protecting what we have earned and pushing forward together. Come ready to listen, share, and take action.
Keep an eye out for the invitation.
- Ways Members Can Stay Engaged and Strengthen Our Voice
- Stay informed. Join a BU 7 or BU 9 Committee meeting through the CSUEU calendar. Hear directly from Business Unit leadership. Know what is moving across the system.
- Shape our next contract. Complete the 2026 Bargaining Survey and tell the Bargaining Team exactly what matters to you. Submit more than one proposal if you have them. This is how we set priorities.
- Step into action now. Karen Malone is leading the CO Contract Action Team. CAT members organize campus support during negotiations. That unity is what turns proposals into real gains. Karen needs more members alongside her. Every CSUEU member is welcome. Add your name by responding to the survey and be part of the team.
- Build influence at the state level. Contribute a small monthly amount to the CSUEU Political Action Committee (PAC). Collective dollars create collective power.

- Other CSUEU News
- Public Funds, Public Accountability. Our union is backing key legislation to hold CSU leadership accountable for how public dollars are spent and how workers are treated. The CSU has relied on a narrow loophole to walk away from bargaining commitments, including last year’s broken promise on full salary steps. We support AB1818 to close that loophole and protect our agreements, and AB1831 to cap excessive administrator and contractor pay at 125% of the governor’s salary. We are not just employees, we are voters, and together we can use our collective voice to push for laws that strengthen and protect workers. - We’re growing. Last year, custodial workers at UG2 at CSU Monterey Bay voted to join CSUEU, and they have now secured their first contract with real gains, including job security, protection from unfair treatment, and raises of 3 to 7 percent. They proved that when workers stand together, we win. Even when work is contracted out, we build strength by organizing and making every job a union job.
- Retirement of Brenda Brown - Brenda Brown has dedicated nearly 40 years to the labor movement. You’ve likely seen her at Chapter Meetings and CO Union events. She has seen organizing evolve across generations and still stands strong in the work. Brenda has built her career on real conversations and steady commitment. In February, the CSUEU Board of Directors proudly recognized her 25 years of CSUEU union service and celebrated the lasting impact she has made on working people.
