Bargaining Team Gets a Big Blue Boost Ahead
of Negotiations at Cal Poly Pomona

|
|
|
Negotiations for our contract re-opener continued
this week, with a session held Thursday (Aug. 3) at Cal Poly
Pomona. CSUEU Bargaining Team members got a strong union boost
from more than 100 members at a pep rally just before meeting
with CSU negotiators on campus.
Chanting, marching ... our message was
clear: The CSU has a crisis on its hands, and the crisis is
failed leadership. The CSU is failing students by not
investing in the workforce that keeps campuses running.
Support for the Bargaining Team wasn't limited to
just union members. State Sen. Susan Rubio (D-Baldwin Park) and
Pomona Councilman Robert Torres showed up in solidarity to help
us turn on the heat in our fight for equitable salary steps.

We're finally making real progress towards
securing a salary steps structure - but we're not at the finish
line yet. We need to keep up the pressure on the CSU by showing
strong union visibility and solidarity ... like holding big blue
rallies!

Union Staff and Student Assistants Hold
"Welcome to Campus" Activities Throughout August
|
|
In a matter of days, thousands of young, eager
students will be stepping onto a CSU campus and starting their
journey of academic and career development. As frontline Support
Staff, CSUEU members will be right there to open the dormitories
as well as to unlock other doors of opportunity awaiting this
next generation of leaders.

|
|
|
|
|
|
Support Staff are the first faces many students
will meet and our message is: "Welcome to campus, we
have your back!"
Our Labor Coalition - comprising Faculty,
Teamsters 2010, Academic Professionals of California, UAW 4123,
and the Union of American Physicians and Dentists (UAPD) - will
circulate flyers to raise awareness about the services and
support we provide students.

|
CSUEU members and Student Assistants will
also be walking the hallways, raising visibility, to spread the
exciting news that Student Assistants are forming a union with
CSUEU to demand that the CSU live up to its core mission of
serving students and to invest in the workforce that keeps campuses
running. Get ready for a #StrongerTogether Fall 2023!

This fall, 10,000+ Student Assistants are
campaigning for a vote to join CSUEU in the biggest election of
non-academic student employees ever! 50 CSUEU members will have
the chance to develop organizing and leadership skills through
the campaign while on paid union release for 4-8 weeks.
