Pledge to Vote. Pledge to Win
|
Vote by Nov. 5!

Heading into the Nov. 5 General Election, it’s
more important than ever to stand together and ensure our voices
are heard. This year, we can elect pro-worker candidates who will support
workers’ rights, help secure funding for our salary steps, and
fight for future raises that are critical for all of us.
By voting for pro-worker legislators, we strengthen our union’s
ability to negotiate better wages, benefits, and working
conditions across the CSU system. The power to protect and
advance the great work of CSUEU starts with us.
Take a moment to pledge to vote pro-worker by signing our Voter Pledge Card. Join CSUEU
members and workers across the state in this critical effort to
elect leaders who stand with us!
Together, we can make a difference this November.

CSUEU Members' Advocacy Protects Student and Staff
Safety

Did you know that the ultimate bosses for the
CSU work in Sacramento? And did you know that we - the
University workers - help elect them? Before you vote, check out
which state Senators and Assemblymembers have our official union
endorsement here.

Because of our members' political engagement and
advocacy, we secured significant legislative wins this
year.
Gov. Gavin Newsom signed into law all but one
of a series of bills to combat sexual discrimination and
harassment at the CSU, UC and community colleges. CSUEU strongly
supported “A Call to Action,” a report on how
higher education institutions are preventing and addressing sex
discrimination on campuses.

A safe working environment is always top
priority. Which is why we're proud that another of our priority
bills - AB 796 from Assembymember Akilah Weber - was signed
into law.
Our Athletic Trainers have strongly urged
a state license requirement, and the new law prohibits
a person from practicing as an athletic trainer (or using
certain titles) without being certified by the Board of
Certification for the Athletic Trainer.
Read the letter from CSUEU
President Catherine Hutchinson recommending the Governor
support and sign the bill.

This week's "New Member Spotlight" features
Christopher Velez, Student Assistant at San José State
University.
After forming the largest undergrad student
workers union in the U.S., our new Unit 15 is activating their
membership with CSUEU to build power to win together.
"I'm currently working two jobs. I'm joining
so that we can fight for better pay together!" said Chris.
