SEIU Delegates Deadline Reminder:
*Today* 5 p.m. Feb. 28

CSUEU members will be electing delegates to the SEIU’s International Convention to be held May 20 - 22, 2024, in Philadelphia, PA.

The nominating petitions and delegate acceptance letter for Delegates to the SEIU Convention will be accepted by the Elections Committee via email at seiucon2024@csueu.org no later than 5:00 p.m. on Feb. 28, 2024.

Delegates to the Convention (which is held once every four years) are elected from each of the local unions within SEIU to set the course of the International Union for the coming period: they will elect the International union officers, establish the goals, strategies and determine the political and legislative priorities.

The Election Committee will review and certify the nomination petitions and a candidates list will be created. Delegate nominees will be notified of their candidacy.

2024 Primary Election

Together, we've stood up against greedy corporations, achieving significant milestones. Retroactive Pay Is Coming 

The latest update from the State Controller's Office is they will process CSUEU members' retroactive pay increase on the night of February 27. The retroactive check will process within a couple of days. Since the update will not occur until the latter half of the month, employees’ new pay rate will appear on the March pay check, issued on April 1. 

Our contract with the CSU includes a 5% a salary increase for 2023/2024 - retroactive to July 2023 and another 5% increase in 2024/2025 which will take effect July 1 this year. More information about our contract here.

CSUEU President Catherine Hutchinson was among those selected to attend the Biden-Harris Administration announcement on Feb. 21 that it will automatically discharge $1.2 billion in loans for nearly 153,000 borrowers who are eligible for the shortened time to forgiveness benefit under President Biden’s Saving on a Valuable Education (SAVE) Plan. This action comes as 7.5 million borrowers are now enrolled in SAVE, 4.3 million of whom have a $0 monthly payment. More information is contained in the White House fact sheet.

When you suddenly become the largest undergraduate student workers union in the country, you're bound to make some news .. and that's what happened this past week!
