Just in time for May Day, the government's latest
data shows unionized workers in the U.S. saw record
raises while nonunion workers’ pay barely kept up with
inflation.
"Wages of private sector union workers rose
6.3% in the year ended in March, the largest increase in data
back to 2001," reported Bloomberg News, using data
from the Bureau of Labor
Statistics. Meanwhile, nonunion workers in the private
sector saw a 4.1% bump in their salaries over the past 12 months.
Shout-out to union members who came together this
week to celebrate International Workers' Day on May 1. At Channel
Islands, pictured above, union members stood in solidarity
from from APC, CFA, CSUEU,
Teamsters, UAW, and SQE. #StrongerTogether
