Good
Jobs Bargaining Update
Share Your CSU Worker Story
Many members may be
wondering what will happen to our Good Jobs 2022 agenda with the
recent resignation of the CSU Chancellor. The answer is
simple: We are driving full steam ahead.
Our CSUEU Bargaining Team continues to meet with the CSU to
negotiate our collective bargaining agreement. While we are still
very early in our process, we have found that there are a number
of items that both sides have identified as common interest
issues.
What will it take
to win a good contract? Engaged members! We need compelling
worker stories to share with legislators and CSU trustees as we
elevate our Good Jobs campaign in the coming weeks. If you
struggle with inadequate pay, job insecurity or a lack of
career advancement, we want to hear from you: Visit www.csueu.org and complete
the "Tell Us Your CSU Story!" webform.
Get to know the Bargaining Team! This week, we
profile three team members - with more to come. And don't
forget: one easy way to show your support is to display a "Good Jobs" background for
your Zoom meetings. No individual effort is too small - the time
is now to join together and win Good Jobs for Our Future! >> Full article

Student
Assistants Voice Concerns
The collection of Student Assistant Job Duties surveys is in
full swing! Our team of member organizers has visited the
Humboldt, Chico, Fresno, Maritime, and Cal Poly Pomona campuses
and spoken to Student Assistants and staff about Good Jobs
2022 and the importance of completing the job duties survey.
“Students are
voicing concerns about low pay and the inability to make ends
meet,” said Monika Salazar, Cal Poly Pomona (Chapter 319) Chief
Steward and Statewide Member Organizer, who emphasized that both
CSUEU members and Student Assistants share a similar sentiment of
feeling overworked and underpaid.

“Since our
priorities at the bargaining table are salary reform,
professional development and job security, engaging with Student
Assistants to learn what work they do will help us address the
workload issues that are endemic across all campuses,” added Eri
Roman, Chico (Chapter 302) President and Statewide Member
Organizer.
