Action Needed: Should We Take a Strike Vote?

We are near the end of our contract negotiations and we've made a lot of progress, but we've yet to come to an agreement on our top issue: wages.

Management is offering annual increases of 1% to 3% — at their discretion — over a four-year contract.

This is unacceptable.

We are fighting for guaranteed, predictable wage increases and we refuse to back down from that demand.

That's why we are calling for a really important membership meeting so we can decide on our next steps to win better pay — and this may include a strike vote. Striking is not something we want to do, but we need to be prepared.

Wages are the most important issue and management's current proposal is not even an agreement to raise wages at all. We have to fight back. It's up to us to decide what we are ready to do to win the wages we deserve.
