ASI Sac Bargaining Update | Aug. 12, 2026

On Wednesday, August 12, we met with ASI Administration to continue bargaining our first contract to win better wages and working conditions.
ASI proposed to keep our wages low, offering that:
- Anyone paid below the new state minimum wage of $17.40 in January would be brought up to the minimum wage – but state law already requires this!
- Anyone paid over $17.40 in January would get a meager 1.5% increase.
ASI’s ridiculous wage proposal adds insult to management’s previous proposal to break our union into two.
The work we do deserves to be valued and respected. We will continue fighting for a contract that recognizes the important contributions we make to the campus community and provides fair wages and working conditions for all of us.
