Lobby Day 2025

Gov. Gavin Newsom's revised state budget proposal is due in a couple of weeks, and CSUEU members are doing everything we can to make prevent cuts or deferred funding for the CSU.
Some 60 member leaders participated in this year's Lobby Day (April 21-22) in Sacramento, meeting with legislators and their senior staff to demand that the state keep its promise to support students, staff, and good jobs at the CSU. View photos from the day here.

"Today's Lobby Day experience taught me that when we fight, we win! Resident Assistants like me provide essential support for students. We want a union so that we can improve what we do."
- Yasamean Zaidi-Dozandeh, Resident Assistant, CSU Dominguez Hills.

"This is my second Lobby Day. We come here to advocate for the changes we want to see, and I know we made a difference with the stories we shared."
- Edwin Espinosa, IT, Cal Poly Humboldt
Take Action this May Day to Fight for Good Jobs
CSUEU members care deeply about our campuses and the future of the CSU. This May Day, we will come together to let management know that campus cuts hurt students, jeopardize programs and services, and undermine student success.
Join an action on your campus and let's demand that the state fully fund the CSU and keep their promise to students, staff, and our communities.

ICE Reverses Terminating Legal Status of International Students
In recent weeks, more than 1,200 students lost their legal status or had visas revoked by the U.S. government, leaving them at risk for deportation. Dozens of students are enrolled at a CSU or University of California campus.
On Friday, federal officials announced the termination of legal status for international students would be reversed. Many have filed court challenges against the Trump administration crackdown.

Congratulations to New Vice President for Representation: Jessica Dalton
The CSUEU Board of Directors voted on April 26 to appoint Jessica Dalton as Vice President for Representation. Jessica’s most recent position was serving as Chapter President at Channel Islands where she works as an Instruction Support Technician III. She has been with the CSU since 2004.
Jessica's history of union activism includes serving as her chapter's Treasurer, Bargaining Unit 9 Representative, Chief Steward, and Vice President.
“Our strength is not just at the bargaining table — it’s in the solidarity of every member we represent. When we speak with one voice, there is no power greater.”
The VP for Representation is one of four statewide executive officer positions. The term ends in 2027.
