Expected Economic Proposal July 13

Our Staff Bargaining Team is sitting down again with the CSU on Monday, July 13. Management has promised to give us a response to our economic proposal that we delivered on June 5.

We proposed:

  • Full steps retroactive to October 2025
  • 11% raises each year over 3 years
  • Improvements to vacation accrual

In order to win the best possible contract, we have to show the CSU that we are prepared to strike. Part of that process is increasing our membership levels on every campus. If you want to win the raises our bargaining team has proposed, join your union today.

Following Monday’s bargaining session, our next two bargaining dates are as follows:

  • August 11 - CSU East Bay
  • August 20 - Chancellor’s Office

Contract Proposals So Far

We have had five bargaining sessions with CSU in 2026. In addition to our economic package, we have made proposals related to temporary workers, contracting out, parental leave, overtime, and many more improvements to our contract.

The Staff Bargaining Team has made every proposal available immediately after each bargaining session.

Historic Increase in CSU Funding Passed

Gov. Newsom signed the CA state budget for 2026-2027 last week. Our members fought hard for state legislators to honor the compact and keep the promise they made to fully fund the CSU, and thanks to CSUEU member advocacy efforts, the budget includes $365.7 million in new ongoing funding for the system. This increase in available funds sets the stage for our contract negotiations. Now that money is available, are you willing to fight for your share? Join the Contract Action Team to win what you deserve.

Contract Expiration Day Actions

Members across the state planned and executed actions on campuses for our Contract Expiration Day June 30. Many of these actions were covered by local media! View news stories and photos from the actions on our website.
