CSUEU is beginning the rollout of a new Representation Resource Center, a major step forward in strengthening our member-led representation program across the CSU.

By strengthening our local steward networks and providing better access to resources and support, we can improve representation outcomes, build capacity, and ensure that every member has access to a well-trained and supported steward when they need one.

The Representation Resource Center will serve as a centralized hub for stewards to access training, tools, resources, case management support, and best practices designed to improve consistency, build steward confidence, and strengthen our union’s ability to represent members effectively at every campus.

Stay tuned for updates as we work with Chief Stewards in establishing the Representation Resource Center. 

Information Technology workers at the University of California recently expanded their union, becoming the largest tech union in the nation with 8,400 IT employees spread across the state.

At at time of massive high tech layoffs across the country in favor of AI, UC's IT workers, represented by University and Professional and Technical Employees (UPTE), successfully sought recognition from the state labor board to add 2,100 employees to their existing  bargaining unit. The workers' goal is to have "a seat at the table where decision-making happens."

"Our victory comes after months of bottom-up union organizing," wrote Max Belasco. "After all, unions built the middle class. As tech’s influence continues to grow, we’re going to need greater union density to take our future back from the tiny cohort of billionaires who think they run the world."
