Happy International Workers’ Day!

As union members, we stand on the shoulders of giants. Millions of workers fought before our time for us to have the basic rights we take for granted today. The 8 hour work day, the right to retire with dignity, safety in the workplace, and much more came as a result of workers coming together and taking action.

On this special day, our union is continuing this legacy. Campus workers are taking action across the state to demand fair contracts for staff and student assistants. And that’s not all. Today we are launching our new CSUEU website!

It features a simplified design that conveys that our union is a fighting organization. As we step into bargaining, we are showing at every level of our union that we are ready to fight.

Student Assistant Bargaining Recap

Our student assistant bargaining team sat down with CSU management on Wednesday April 30 to continue negotiating our first contract for student assistants.

“I was disgusted by the disrespect from the management negotiating team. Rather than listen to our needs as the workforce that keeps campuses running, they lectured us about responsibility, insinuated we are unable to make choices about our workloads, and acted as if we are ungrateful children.” - Lucy Dean, Bargaining Team Member from Sonoma State

Staff Bargaining Next Week @ CSUN

Our time has come. This is our opportunity to win fully funded steps, raises, and job security. Members at Northridge are organizing a rally to support our bargaining team and show management that we are united! The CSU’s negotiating team won’t just hear our chants at Northridge, they will hear reports of the solidarity actions happening on every campus organized by our Contract Action Teams (CATs).

It’s more important now, more than ever, to get involved with your campus CAT. Sign up today.

Ballots Drop Next Week, Make a Plan to VOTE!

Our vote matters. As workers in Higher Ed, for a university that is publicly funded, who we elect to Sacramento and the U.S. Capitol determines whether the CSU gets the funding it needs to serve students and support its workforce.

Aspiring leaders seek our union endorsement and we support those who strongly advocate for workers, regardless of their political party. Check out our CSUEU endorsements for the June Primary Election.
