We Are In The Fight of Our Lives

Hundreds of workers marched our Bargaining Team into negotiations after a rally at CSU Northridge on May 7. More than 13 chapters organized actions including rallies, blue out days, practice pickets, tabling events, and more on their campuses to support winning a contract with fully-funded steps, raises and job security. Read more about last week's bargaining here.

We learned not only that CSU does not want to fully fund steps, CSU is also desperately afraid of members using our strongest tool: the strike.

CSU introduced a bargaining proposal to take away our right to strike. CSU wants us to give away this right because they are afraid of the mass disruption a strike would cause. That’s exactly why we must prepare to strike.

State Budget Revise Hands CSU Millions - Now We Bargain for Our Share

NO MORE EXCUSES - The CSU has been handed a proposed budget with $264.8 million in new, on-going funding. This gives them more than enough to invest in their workers and implement FULL STEPS! After the broken promises of last year, full steps is no longer enough.

We are demanding even greater raises at the bargaining table. Join our budget townhall on Friday (5/15) at 12 p.m. to learn how the May Revise strengthens our 2026 contract campaign.

Members of the Contract Action Team (CAT) are busy across the state getting our union ready to strike, if necessary. CAT members are working to move coworkers into action, build visibility across campuses, and grow the pressure for real gains at the bargaining table.
