Get Ready for ORGtoberfest!
Fall is here but temperatures haven't dropped (thanks, el Niño!) and neither has our "Bold and Blue" mobilization. Across campuses, CSUEU members are pushing stronger than ever for a contract with real wages we can live on.
Just this week, Contract Action Team leaders at Cal Poly Pomona and CSU Northridge hosted rallies and marches - in coordination with other unions - to keep management on their toes.

Our Economic Demands
- Full steps implementation
- 7% salary structure adjustment for Year 1
- 7% general salary increase for those not on steps
- 7% for those with Red Circle
“Great turnout at Chico State's Solidarity Break! 💪 Union members across campus came together to show that we're stronger when we stand together. Our new Cross-Union Solidarity Team on Microsoft Teams is making it easier for us all to connect and stay informed. Stronger together!”
Karen Betenbaugh
Administrative Analyst/Specialist, Chico

Review all the bargaining proposals that have been exchanged.
The last bargaining session (Sept. 9), management increased their original 1% salary increase to 1.2% for Year 1. They increased their second-year offer by 1% to a 4% compensation pool. Take a look at this "Where We're At" graphic for contract highlights.
The next two negotiation sessions are scheduled for Oct. 7 and Oct. 22.

Register for the bargaining town halls on Oct. 9 and Oct. 23.
What You Can Do
Download the union's Zoom background and display proudly during work meetings.
Take our Strike Readiness Survey. Your responses help guide our Bargaining Team strategy and Contract Action Team (CAT) outreach.
Know your rights when it comes to what a strike means - download and distribute the Strike FAQ. (It is designed to print out on 11x17 as a trifold.)
Help activate members on your campus! Join the CAT on your campus by signing up here. If you have questions reach out to cat@csueu.org.
Keep taking action! Check out this article from CalMatters.
Later this month, Contract Action Team members will assemble at CSU Fullerton in a "blitz" to reach out to non-members. Fullerton is the site for our Oct. 22 bargaining and we want to strengthen membership.
Do you know a co-worker who isn't yet a CSUEU member? Reach out and invite them to join us and share this flyer!
Building Our Power, Taking It Beyond the Campus
Two bargaining sessions. Campus actions. Practice pickets. Trainings. Legislative visits. Town Halls. Coalition actions.
And it all comes down to one thing:
BUILDING POWER.

CSUEU members have been taking our fight directly to state legislators - sharing what's happening at the bargaining table, talking about what CSU workers need, and asking elected leaders to make their voices heard with CSU leadership.
Want to meet with a legislator in your area? Reach out to Steven Butcher at SButcher@CSUEU.org to see if we can get a legislative visit scheduled for your campus.
“We had a great time meeting and talking with the Assemblymember about the state of our current bargaining sessions, as well as how their decisions in Sacramento ultimately affect us as the frontline staff. We look forward to continuing our professional relationship together and are so grateful for the opportunity!”

Admissions Evaluator, SDSU
Election 2026: We Have Political Power!
An important election is coming up and we - as CSU workers - have political power at the ballot box. Who we elect to Sacramento directly impacts CSU funding, our contract negotiations, wages and working conditions.
Join CSUEU members on Oct. 5 at Noon via Zoom for a presentation about why politics matters to our union and our jobs.
We'll talk about the November election, our union priorities, and how voting, organizing, our Political Activities Committee (PAC), and political action all work together to build the power we need to win strong contracts and a better CSU.
Why This Election Matters
Oct. 5 at 12 Noon — Join the Zoom presentation and sign the pledge to vote.
