Hold Management Accountable to Raises We Can Live On!
Last week, members from campuses across the state stood together either at their own campus or at the Chancellor's Office while our Bargaining Team was at the table.
CSU started negotiations in May with a proposed 1% salary increase. On September 9, they upped their offer to just 1.2% for Year 1. They increased their second-year offer by 1% to a 4% compensation pool.

We have to hold management accountable for negotiating raises we can live on. This Friday, bargaining continues at CSU Long Beach.
Our Bargaining Team is doing the work at the table. Our job is to build the power behind them.

Election 2026: We Have Political Power!
As CSU workers, we have political power at the ballot box. Who we elect to Sacramento directly impacts CSU funding, our contract negotiations, wages and working conditions.
We’ll talk about the November election, our union priorities, and how voting, organizing, our Political Activities Committee (PAC), and political action all work together to build the power we need to win strong contracts and a better CSU.
Our political power is union power, and it starts with us!
Student Assistants Continue Their First Contract Fight
Since winning their union two years ago, 20,000 Student Assistants continue to negotiate with CSU leadership for a strong first contract.
They are fighting for fair pay including overtime pay; sick time so that everyone works in a healthy environment; holiday pay so that students who are scheduled to work on holidays don’t lose out on wages; and a ffordable parking and public transportation incentives.
“Right now because of our union, CSU has given us proposals that include paid sick time and summer job security protections. We’ve won a lot so far, but the job isn’t done. We are taking action now to win on our biggest demands, like raising our pay.”

Gov. Newsom: Support CSU Workers and Sign AB 1818!
AB 1818, sponsored by Teamsters Local 2010 and introduced by labor ally Asm. Liz Ortega, is an important bill to close the legal loophole that CSU used in 2025 to deny workers promised raises.
The bipartisan legislation will prevent the CSU from unilaterally refusing to pay contractual raises due to claims of budget shortfall.
CSUEU members are joining the Teamsters' fight to hold CSU management accountable. Send a letter to Gov. Gavin Newsom to ask him to sign AB 1818.
