CSUEU Bargaining Team came to today's negotiations ready to exchange serious proposals; CSU Management continued with games. It's abundantly clear: If workers want it, WE'RE GOING TO HAVE TO FIGHT FOR IT!!
We started negotiations proposing 11% annual wage increases over 3 years. We showed sincere effort today and adjusted our figure down to 9%. You won't believe what Management came back with. You might remember their last offer was a big fat Zero raise for staff. Today, they upped it all the way to 1%.
That's right. ONE PERCENT. That is unserious, unacceptable, and unworthy of the skilled and dedicated labor we bring to work every day.
See CSUEU proposal exchanged today.
If you are angry at this news, know that you are not alone. When Management arrived to bargain at East Bay today, they were confronted with a powerful sea of blue shirts and loud chants, thanks to fellow CSUEU members from Northern California chapters who showed up to support our bargaining team.
Remember to RSVP to hear a full update from our Bargaining Team on Thursday at Noon.
We must continue mobilizing on every campus. We know that Management will not budge when they feel pressure. So ... reach out to your Contract Action Team leaders on your campus and get ready to make this #StrikeReadySummer a hot one!
Our bargaining team will review the proposals received today and prepare a response for next week's bargaining session on Aug. 20.

"We came to the table with a serious proposal. They answered with something entirely unserious.
Members observing bargaining are fired up and taking their energy back to their campuses. We need to turn our anger to powerful collective actions in the coming days."
