Student Organizing Bids on Campus Seed New Labor Generation
“We’re tired of being exploited,” said Colin Culver, an 18-year-old San Diego State University student. “We’re tired of not being compensated. That’s why we formed a union.”
The CSU Employees Union is seeking to represent as many as 20,000 undergraduate workers across 23 campuses. That would dwarf the potential 4,000-member union of mostly undergraduates at the University of Oregon.
