Workers — united — will never be defeated!
As we fight for our contract, we are rocking CSU campuses up and down the state every week and our labor alliances continue to grow stronger.
Turning Campuses Bold & Blue!
Check out the loud and proud rally at Cal State LA on Oct. 2 boosted by CFA, Teamsters 2010, and Academic Professionals of California.
A few days later, Stanislaus held a practice picket in support of our Bargaining Team on Oct. 7. This is what building power looks like. More people getting involved, more voices being heard, and members standing together for a fair contract.

The last bargaining session (Oct. 7), management did not budge from their previous proposal of 1.2% for Year 1 and a 4% compensation pool for Year 2.

Next Up
The next negotiations date is Oct. 22. Campuses are busy planning more actions to show Management we're not backing down from a fight if that's what it takes to win what we deserve.
Support our Bargaining Team's efforts by connecting with your campus Contract Action Team leaders. Brandon Wilcox, of Cal Poly Humboldt, joined as an observer during a bargaining session and told the team he's got their backs.
WE WANT:
- Full steps implementation
- Fair raises
- Stop abuse of Temporary Workers

Building Our Union, One Worker at a Time
Contract Action Team (CAT) members from across the state will come together at CSU Fullerton for a three-day training next week, focused on growing our union.
Build It. Grow It. Bring It to the Table.
Members will train together, put those skills into practice through a real membership blitz, and bring that energy to the October 22 bargaining action.
The goal isn't just to recruit members at Fullerton. It's to learn how to take these skills back and grow membership on every campus.
I'm hoping to learn more about building community. Trainings and events like these serve as a great reminder that every voice matters and coming together to continuously learn and grow as a unit is where the true strength of a union shines through. As our motto goes, 'When we fight together, we win!'

Know Your Rights. Build Our Power. Be Strike Ready.
More than 1,300 CSUEU represented employees this week (Oct. 14) attended our virtual town halls: "Your Right to Strike: What Every Member Should Know" featuring CSUEU legal counsel Ardalan "Ardy" Raghian and Kerianne Steele. Members learned about their legal rights, asked important questions, and gained a better understanding of what participating in a strike could mean for them. 600 attendees participated in pre- and post-strike assessments.
And the assessment results tell an important story!
Before the town halls, 78.6% of respondents indicated they would be willing to strike. Following the sessions, that number increased to 84.9%, while the percentage of undecided respondents dropped from 18.5% to 12%.
Willingness to Strike
Before the town halls: 78.6%
After the town halls: 84.9%
These results reinforce why member education and meaningful conversations matter. When members have the information they need, we strengthen our ability to make informed decisions and take collective action.
With our next bargaining session scheduled for October 22, now is the time to continue building our strength through education, organizing, and membership growth. Being strike ready doesn't mean a strike has been called. It means understanding our rights, knowing what's at stake, and preparing to stand together if necessary.
The Bargaining Team is the megaphone.
Members determine the volume.
The pamphlet is designed to print on 11×17 paper as a trifold.
Know your rights. Talk to your coworkers. Build our power. Be strike ready!
Union Workers + Politics = Power
Election Day is Nov. 3 but we don't have to wait to vote!
For those registered to vote by mail, be sure to check our union endorsements while completing your absentee ballot. As CSU workers, we have political power at the ballot box. Who we elect to Sacramento directly impacts CSU funding, our contract negotiations, wages and working conditions.
And don't forget to sign your pledge to vote!
Our Legislative Wins
We've seen the power workers have when we advocate for ourselves.
September 30 was the last day for Gov. Gavin Newsom to sign or veto bills, and CSUEU members had a strong year of advocacy! Here some highlights of our wins this year:
CSU Funding
We focused on fully implementing steps and securing a fair contract for our student workers. We succeeded in fully funding the CSU, which is critical in our fight for better contracts.
Bargaining Rights
We were proud to support AB 1818 (Ortega), a Teamsters sponsored bill that will require written notification from the Board of Trustees to workers when budget funding falls short and may affect contract implementation. This small but important change to the law ensures that trustees are directly engaged in the discussion surrounding our contract and the impact of state budget decisions.
AI in the Workplace
We supported several bills to strengthen worker rights in the age of AI. AB 1331 limits surveillance of employees in the restroom while AB 1883 limits the use of employer surveillance tools to monitor neural and emotional data of employees. SB 947, the “no-robo bosses” bill, puts protections in place to limit the ability for AI tools to make workplace discipline and other employment related decisions without human oversight.
