Chapter Elections 2015
CSUEU Chapter 318 elections will be held in the 2015 spring semester. You must be a CSUEU Chapter 318 member to hold office or vote in the elections (NOTE: Fee payers are not members and must join if they want to participate). A completed and signed Nomination and Consent form is required of anyone who wishes to run for office. Nomination forms must be delivered to Comm 122A before 5 PM on December 10, 2014. Signed nomination forms can be left in the drop box outside Comm 122A before December 10th or Election Committee members will be in Comm 122A on December 10 from 6:30 AM to 5:00 PM. Nominations are being accepted for the following offices:

Chapter Elected Offices Descriptions
The President is the top executive officer of the chapter. This position heads meetings of the Executive Committee and the Chapter and coordinates the work of officers and committees. This position is also a member of the CSUEU Board of Directors, representing the Chapter.
TYPICAL DUTIES: Chairs Executive Committee and Chapter meetings. Attends CSUEU Board of Directors meetings as board member. Appoints committee chairs. Coordinates the work of committees and officers.
The Vice President is the second executive officer of the chapter. This position replaces the President when necessary at meetings of the Executive Committee, the Chapter and the CSUEU Board of Directors. The President may also assign the Vice President to assist him/her in other administrative tasks.
TYPICAL DUTIES: In the absence of the President, chairs Executive Committee and Chapter meetings and attends CSUEU Board of Directors meetings as board member. .
The Recording Secretary is responsible for the records of the Chapter.
TYPICAL DUTIES: Takes minutes for Executive Committee; distributes minutes for approval. Maintains inventory of Chapter equipment. May supervise or perform record-keeping for other Chapter committees.
The Treasurer is responsible for the financial resources of the Chapter.
TYPICAL DUTIES: Prepares Chapter Budget for approval by Executive Committee; prepares reports to CSUEU HQ on expenses and budget; signs authorization for expenses; reports to Executive Committee on available resources and budget.
The Organizing Chair is the elected head of organizing efforts in the Chapter.
TYPICAL DUTIES: Chair of the Organizing Committee. Works with the LRR to develop recruitment programs (new employee orientation, cold calls). Oversees event planning. Coordinates with statewide leadership during the contract campaign. May head a building network committee.
The Bargaining Unit Representative represents the interests of his/her specific bargaining unit in the chapter.
TYPICAL DUTIES: Advises and represents bargaining unit employees, assists in organizing in the bargaining unit, holds unit and group meetings. May send out leadership letter to unit members. Attends Executive Committee meetings, Stewards Council meetings and Organizing Committee meetings (on request).

The Chief Steward is the elected head of the stewards in the Chapter and responsible for coordinating representation on the campus. The Chief Steward is elected by a separate election. Only certified stewards can participate in the Chief Steward election.
TYPICAL DUTIES: Chair of the Stewards Council; assigns cases to stewards. Often the first steward contacted by an employee. Works with the LRR at the campus level to coordinate representation efforts and provides training.
